Vegetarian?
I didn't talk a little bit in portuguese about thinking in being a vegetarian because my parents sometimes go see my blog :X I don't want them to know that I would like to be one but I don't feel capable...I like meat and fish too much! I'm reading in some websites the alternatives for meat and fish as tofu but I never tried it...I don't know if I even like it :P I asked my mom if she could buy but she said no :(
I'm not talking about being a vegan but a lacto-ovo-vegetarian will be nice ^_^
As I said before I like meat and fish too much and I'm not too sensible for all the animals that die for feed all our humanity but in the other hand being a vegetarian I could help them but I don't know the others advantages and I think being a vegetarian could give some health problems, any of you are vegetarians? What do you could tell me about that? Please give me many informations it'll be helpful

I've been a lacto-ovo vegetarian for a little over a year now, and it's quite fabulous. Being a vegetarian is acutally much healthier, and causes no health problems as long as you get all the nutrients you need. (I take a multi-vitamin just in case.) It's much harder to be a healthy vegan because of the huge amount of things you can't eat.
Being a vegetarian really isn't a big deal when it comes to what to eat, etc. because most restaurants offer at least one (usually more) vegetarian meals, and where I live, the grocery store has a whole section of meat-alternatives in the frozen section. They have veggie burgers, veggie sausage, veggie bacon, veggie crumbles (which is like vegetarian ground beef, to use in tacos and spaghetti and things like that), veggie "chicken" patties, there are many more, but I can't remember then all! ;)
Some vegetarians don't even like tofu, I'm sure. I love it, but it takes some getting used to. (Whatever you do, make sure it is well seasoned. Plain tofu is quite icky. If your grocery store has it, I recommend "Melissa's Flavor Your Tofu" which is found in the organic section at my grocery store.) Of the meat substitutes, I probably eat veggie burgers most because they are so yummy! Most of the time, though, I don't even eat meat substitutes. Lately, I've been eating a lot of veggie stir fry; it's quite delicious when flavored with curry powder, cumin, and a bit of soy sauce.
And of course, there are some vegetarians that eat seafood, because they don't consider it a meat. I don't eat fish, but I never did like fish...
There are lots of great vegetarian websites out there. My personal favorite is GoVeg.Com. They have a free vegetarian starter pack, with lots of tips and stuff, that you can download. They also have tons of other information and recipes. Another good website for recipes is VegWeb.Com.
Since you are unsure about being a vegetarian, my suggestion would be to try a vegetarian diet for a week. If you like it, stick with it. If you don't like it, go back to eating meat again.
When I first started thinking about becoming a vegetarian, I felt much the dame as you do. Like, I couldn't give up meat. But before I completely became a vegetarian, I gradually removed meat from my diet. First I wouldn't eat hot dogs, then burgers, then I wouldn't eat any red meat, etc., until I finally just became a vegetarian. Now, I don't even see meat as food; it just doesn't look good to me anymore. So, vegetarianism is right for me.
It's cool that you're thinking of becoming a vegetarian! Good luck deciding! :D
pois os papás nunca deixam, também já pensei em ser vegetariana mas o apoio ou as respostas que eu recebo sao sempre ou estás doida ou um NÃO redondo mas prontos...
